Silvio's farm lies high up in the mountains of Cerro Mogotón, the highest peak of Nicaragua. Here an unique microclimate is created by the altitude of 1600 meters above sea level and a constant mist hovering through the coffee fields. The entire farm is covered in diverse shade trees, creating a deep green hue throughout. Here coffee matures slowly reaching high levels of sugar concentration in the cherries. At perfect ripeness the coffee is picked by Silvio's loyal team at the farm.

Our company established the unique concept of ‘Farmer Owned Coffee’. In this business model the coffee farmers that supply the coffee also hold shares in the roasting company and participate in decision-making. The idea for this concept comes from the extensive experience in the green coffee trade of Bram de Hoog, the founder and leader of Paso Paso. Frustrated by empty promises and a lack of decisive action from the specialty coffee industry he envisioned a more equalitarian business model. Today, our company is owned and shared between five coffee farming families, a marketing agency, and Bram at the roastery in Hannover, Germany. We purchase coffee exclusively from our own farms and roast them daily in our roastery in Hannover. This way we maintain complete control of the entire supply chain from our farms to your coffeeshop. Quality, consistency and reliability are the natural consequences of our business model and we are excited to extent the benefits to your business.
