Sabana Redonda

🇨🇷 Costa Rica

In stock

This coffee features tasting notes of blackcurrant and nougat. It is produced by Oscar and Francisca Chacón at Finca Sabana Redonda and processed using a black honey method at Las Lajas Micromill in Costa Rica. The coffee is a Typica variety grown at an altitude of 1400–1600 meters. The black honey process involves leaving depulped coffee untouched for two days before turning it multiple times daily over 15–20 days to integrate sugars from the mucilage into the bean.

Dune Coffee RoastersVerified

🇺🇸 Santa Barbara, California, United States

Dune Coffee Roasters has been stewarding coffee with honesty and integrity since 2009, recognizing that every bag of roasted coffee represents countless hours of human dedication and hard work. Founded in Santa Barbara by Julia and Todd, the company began as a humble operation on the corner of State Street and Figueroa using an espresso machine loaned by friends at Verve Coffee. Central to Dune's philosophy is their "Somos Socios" (We Are Partners) approach, emphasizing sustainable partnerships across the global coffee supply chain. The company commits to working exclusively with partners invested in coffee's long-term success, ensuring producers receive fair and sustainable prices. These enduring relationships enable Dune to serve exceptional coffees consistently year after year while allowing producing partners to depend on reliable support for improvements and risk-taking. Dune views relationships with customers, coworkers, and producing partners as equally important, fostering a community where collective success is the goal. Through coffee, the company creates positive impact both globally and within their Santa Barbara hometown, believing specialty coffee should be accessible, approachable, and enjoyable for everyone. The company's growth reflects their commitment to community and quality. After beginning roasting their own coffee in 2012 with a full-scale roastery alongside their second Anacapa Street location, Dune expanded to Goleta in 2015 and opened their fourth retail location on Calle Real in 2022, despite pandemic-related delays. Throughout this expansion, Dune maintains their foundational principles of quality coffee, community connection, and sustainable partnerships that honor the entire supply chain's hard work.
